Zak Brown Launches MasterClass on Negotiation: “Just Offer Them an F1 Seat, Never Fails.”
WOKING—McLaren CEO Zak Brown has announced his newest venture: teaching an online MasterClass on negotiation, sharing the same techniques that have made him one of the most talked-about dealmakers (and Lando stans) in modern motorsport.
“Negotiation is all about leverage,” Brown begins in the course trailer, filmed in McLaren’s papaya-tinted office and underscored by the faint hum of lawyers selling dreams on lies. “When you’re losing a driver, a contract, or even a purchase on Facebook Marketplace, just promise them an F1 seat. Works every time. All the time.”
The 12-part course, Zak Brown Teaches Strategic Overpromising, covers topics such as:
“Emotional Intelligence and How to Fake It,”
“The Art of the Verbal Contract and Putting Nothing on Paper,”
“How to Make Someone Think They’re the Next Lando Norris (Without Believing It Yourself).”
Brown insists the course is built on real experience. “Look, people call it ‘bad faith,’ I call it ‘advanced optimism,’” he said. “Some people get mad, but that just means the deal worked in your favor. If you’re not in court by the end, did you even negotiate?”
Early students are already praising the course’s bold simplicity. “I tried his method when negotiating a promotion,” said participant Daniel Reyes. “I told them I could offer the CEO an F1 seat. Now I’m unemployed, but I know something better is around the corner.”
As Brown wraps up the trailer, he leans back with a smirk. “At the end of the day, negotiation isn’t about honesty,” he says. “It’s about getting what you want, and that’s Lando winning the WDC.”
Enrollment for Brown’s MasterClass opens next week with a disclaimer stating: “Completing the course does not, under any circumstances, guarantee an F1 seat… or does it?”
