The Value of Aston Martins Destroyed on Set of James Bond Movies Almost Reaches Lance Stroll’s
Studio executives confirm trying to catch the prolific Stroll but say he remains out of reach.
LONDON—Studio accountants reviewing decades of James Bond films have confirmed that the total value of Aston Martins destroyed in the iconic spy thrillers is approaching the on-track destruction associated with Lance Stroll, though analysts admit the gap remains out of reach. Some believe it may not be possible to overcome in our lifetime.
Since the 1960s, Bond has methodically annihilated some of the most expensive cars ever built by Aston Martin, often for reasons ranging from saving the world to impressing a woman through refined acts of cinematic toxic masculinity. The cars were flipped, shot, submerged, and exploded, but still with less frequency than the legendary Stroll.
“Those vehicles died heroes,” said one studio accountant. “They advanced cinema. They moved the needle. They meant something. We are still feeling the chill under the shady canopy cast by the Stroll shadow.”
By comparison, Aston Martin’s Formula 1 operation has spent recent seasons converting serious funding into qualifying exits, radio apologies, and optimistic press releases centered on the phrase “just wait until next year.” Much of that focus has landed on Stroll, whose continued presence in the sport is frequently attributed to his da… driving.
“Lance is consistent,” said one paddock observer. “Let’s just say that.”
At press time, studios confirmed future Bond films would rely more heavily on CGI, citing the growing realization that it is unlikely they will ever catch Lance.
