Formula E to Add Wind Chimes on Corners & Passing Zones to Improve Spectator Experience
Series officials confirm fans “should at least hear something” when cars go by.
BERLIN—Officials from Formula E announced plans this week to install noisy wind chimes at key corners and designated passing zones in an effort to enhance the live spectator experience and reassure fans that racing is, in fact, happening at that moment.
“We’ve heard the feedback,” said one Formula E spokesperson. “Fans want immersion. They want drama. They want to know when a car has passed them without having to check the jumbotron or feel a slight breeze.”
