FIA Tells Fans “Fine, You Don’t Get Regulations Then” After Complaints in Comments Section
FIA Confirms Regulations Revoked Until Fan Base “Stops Acting Foolish”
PARIS—The FIA has announced that it will be revoking all Formula 1 regulations effective immediately, citing ongoing complaints from fans in the comments section.
“Fine,” said FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, reportedly standing in front of a whiteboard labeled “2026 Rules” with a large red X drawn across it. “If no one is happy, then no one gets regulations. Let’s see how you like that.”
According to sources, the decision came after weeks of sustained criticism regarding the sport’s recent changes, with fans taking to social media to express concerns, confusion, and in many cases, complete confidence in solutions they described as “pretty obvious if you actually understand racing.”
“We tried explaining things,” said one FIA official. “We really did. But after the 4,937,326th comment that started and ended with ‘it’s not that hard,’ we realized the only solution was to take everything away.”
Under the new directive, teams will be free to design cars without any technical limitations, while race weekends will proceed without sporting regulations, penalties, or even a clearly defined track.
Early reactions from teams have been mixed. “We’re packing up and going home,” said one Haas engineer. “Wait, this means the top teams can spend whatever they want. right? Yeah, I’m out.”
Drivers, meanwhile, have reportedly begun asking whether there is a way to “earn the 2025 regulations back.”
“I mean, what if we just… behave?” one driver asked. “Like, if we promise to stop complaining, do we get DRS back? Or is that really gone forever?”
The FIA has not ruled out reinstating regulations in the future but made it clear that such privileges must be earned.
“Regulations are a privilege, not a right,” Ben Sulayem said. “And right now, the fan base has shown it cannot handle that responsibility.”
Fans, for their part, immediately responded to the announcement by flooding comment sections with new complaints about the new rule that there are no rules.
